The OEM’s (HP, Lexmark etc) are asking you to return your empty cartridges so they can shred them and make them into new products. Lexmark makes them into pens for instance. This reduces the landfill burden  and is ‘green’.  Or you can give them to your local dealer or refiller and he may even pay you for them.  He doesnt shred them – he refills them so no electricity etc. is used, the cartridge is recycled and awat we go again. Which is greener – refilling or shredding (which also takes refills of the market and you have to buy Original inks/toners)?
